I teach OKX product development (Phase 4): How exactly should AI be implemented in a company? I've been promoting it for three years, let's look back and talk about the surprising 50% at OKX 🤖

A counterintuitive judgment: If a platform wants to increase DAU, the direction has been wrong from the start
Everyone assumes the problem is insufficient features, so they add more. But from my daily use, it's actually the opposite——
What you need to do is not addition, but subtraction: first, remove all those settings that contradict "following" one by one
Because the core task is only one: to build bonds between fans and KOLs. And following is the first gateway to bonding
Based on this, cut three things👇
1️⃣ The dull gray badge for invited influencers: change it to the blue badge next to the nickname—a signal recognized by the platform, don’t hide it yourself
2️⃣ The feed doesn’t promote KOLs: learn from Weibo and Twitter to make recommendations, so fans grow organically
3️⃣ Live streaming strictly limits following: everyone else is trying hard to help fans follow streamers, but you do the opposite
In the end, it boils down to one sentence: tipping is just the matchstick, bonding is the engine
Activity fueled by money disappears once the money stops; with bonding, fans will come back again and again🔁

Let's start with a counterintuitive judgment — the default thinking is: if the functionality is insufficient, just add more features. My daily use of Planet leads to the exact opposite conclusion: what you need to do is not addition, but subtraction — first, delete all those settings that oppose "following" one by one. This is my third article teaching OKX product development. In the first two, I talked about the PC homepage and team collaboration. In this one, I discuss a more critical issue — how exactly Planet should increase its DAU. Outline of this article: 🎯 Want to increase DAU? Don’t rush to add features; what you lack is a "core task." 🚧 Your most conflicted area right now: constantly opposing "following." 🔵 First cut in the feed: replace that dull gray effect expert badge with a blue badge. 🔁 Second cut in the feed: learn from Weibo and Twitter to promote KOL recommendations. 📺 The most counterintuitive move in live streaming: while others desperately help fans follow, you are restricting it. ❤️ Bonds are the engine of DAU; tipping is just the matchstick. Enough talk, let's start the main text 🙏 🧵🧵🧵 Outline of this article Planet wants to increase DAU, but the direction has been wrong from the start. 1. Want to increase DAU? Don’t rush to add features; what you lack is a "core task." 🎯 Whether making games, products, or setting strategies, the first question I always ask is: what is the core task? Every action of a team must focus on this one task. Anything that contradicts or hinders this core task must be cut off. That’s it.

I wrote an article that might offend a lot of people: Frontend does frontend, backend does backend, product does product, testing does testing — this division of labor you've been doing for over a decade is fundamentally wrong.
It wasn't just wrong in the AI era; it was already wrong in the internet era, but back then people had no choice.
Here are some radical conclusions I experimented with in my own company:
- In the AI era, product managers should be able to directly command AI to create demos and hand them over to development. If even AI can't produce what you want, it means no one understands what you're saying — then you're not a qualified product manager.
- Developers should stop waiting and relying on others; you no longer need to write code line by line. Not understanding the business means you're useless.
- Every product manager should be equipped with a Vercel and a Railway, so cheap it's almost free.
- Development → Product → Marketing → User, every time information passes through a layer it gets discounted, and after three layers it becomes unrecognizable. Cut out the middle layers and form a three-party AI collaboration team of product, development, and marketing, where when one person speaks, the other two are fully synchronized.
- The thing I fear most is hearing "I need to evaluate, build infrastructure, give me two months." Learn by doing, not do by learning. Start working first and push yourself 🏃
Ultimately, dividing people into frontend, backend, product, and testing roles is like turning people into tools that only know how to tighten one screw.
A gentleman is not a tool — the world has long since changed.

Let me start with something that might offend a lot of people — it's not just the AI era that's wrong. Even in the internet era, it was wrong; it's just that back then, people had no choice. This is my second article about teaching OKX product development. In the last one, I criticized their PC homepage. But in this one, I won't talk about how to change a specific feature; I'll talk about something bigger — what the entire team collaboration method should really look like. This approach isn't something I came up with on a whim; I experimented with it bit by bit within my own company. Here, I won't discuss the specifics of how developers write code; the core question is: how should product and development teams cooperate? Outline of this article: 🧩 First, correct a concept that has been domesticated for twenty years: division of labor itself is wrong. 🔩 The cost of over-division: everyone becomes a screw who doesn't understand the whole picture. 🎯 Product managers in the AI era: those who can't produce anything are unqualified. 🛠 Developers in the AI era: the wait-and-see, hands-off managers are no longer useful. 📡 Information gets distorted after passing through three hands; the middle layer is the biggest pitfall. 🤝 My answer: establish a tripartite AI collaboration group of product, development, and operations. 🏃 Learn by doing, not by studying before doing; start working first to push yourself. No more nonsense, let's begin the main text 🙏 🧵🧵🧵 Article outline Frontend does frontend, backend does backend, product does product, testing does testing — this division of labor you've been doing for over a decade is itself wrong. 1. First, correct a concept that has been domesticated for twenty years: division of labor itself is wrong 🧩 China Internet
Market liquidity appears to be declining.
The G10 excess liquidity leading indicator has turned negative for the first time since 2024.
This indicator compares the growth rate of money supply with the pace of economic growth in G10 economies.
Excess liquidity that supports asset prices occurs when money supply growth outpaces economic growth.
Historically, this indicator usually leads the semiconductor index ($SOX) by about 6 months.
If this historical relationship holds, semiconductor stocks may perform weakly in the coming months.
Keep monitoring liquidity.

Key knowledge for those switching from US stocks to crypto: Where do pre-market, after-hours, night sessions, and 24-hour trading come from?
US stock trading hours have been getting worse and worse, until 24-hour trading. Understanding its history makes it clear:
🔹 1985:
The US stock market, represented by Nasdaq, only had morning and midday sessions, no after-hours trading. Just like A-shares.
🔹 1991:
Trading volumes in London and Tokyo surged, but they are in different time zones than the US stock market.
If trading hours weren't extended, global capital could only trade on local exchanges.
So Nasdaq was the first to launch ECN (Electronic Communication Network) trading after hours, extending trading by 1 hour (just business competition).
🔹 1990s–2000:
With frequent earnings reports, economic data, and geopolitical conflicts often occurring during Asian or European hours, if US stocks didn’t offer after-hours trading, there would be significant gap risks and continuous order outflows.
Therefore, major exchanges gradually expanded after-hours trading sessions with one core goal: to keep orders from being diverted. (Everyone understood this and started competing for users).
🔹 2024:
A historic step—US stocks officially launched 24-hour trading (night trading).
🔹 2026:
24-hour trading will become mainstream and standard.
📌 The core reason is simple:
Cryptocurrency and forex markets have already become global standards with 7×24 hour trading.
If you don’t offer it, users will vote with their feet, and orders and liquidity will be diverted.
Times have changed; the market always votes with real money.

You must stop flattering the US stock market. The US stock market and the cryptocurrency circle are both just hot money running back and forth chasing new narratives.
Previously, Baimao hyped up the "bottleneck" issue, so the "bottleneck" sector rose one after another. Now those who entered later are the ones "stuck at the bottleneck."
Now hot money has realized that no one recognizes the "bottleneck" anymore and has started hyping "AI application software."
What's the difference? It's all just hype and expectations, almost nothing to do with fundamentals.
The work these software companies do this month and last month hasn't essentially changed, but the narrative is very different.
Moreover, the "AI software narrative" is still in its early stages because those who believed in the "bottleneck" narrative haven't cut their losses and come over yet. When they do, we'll quickly run, and then "bottleneck their necks" here 😁.

AI chips: The hidden opportunity behind $QQQ's new high 💡
Oil prices crashed 5%, US stocks rocketed, why is Bitcoin not moving? 🔥
The market looks like a tug-of-war, with neither side daring to let go first—today we'll see who cracks first.
Looking at the numbers
$BTC 63,519 +0.06% $ETH 1,858 -1.29%
$QQQ +1.76% $SPY +1.42% $IBIT +1.46%
$DXY +0.19% $GLD +0.05%
Talking about the situation
Crude oil near Hormuz is still unsettled; once the inflation nerve is touched, $DXY immediately perks up; the exchange rate line is restless, the dollar is definitely not just a background player. AI semiconductors remain the main sentiment switch for US stocks, $QQQ pulls in funds and stacks them up, $SNDK burns hot with a single-day +5.7%, while $MU -2.1% and $SKHYNIX -2.3% are still in the freezer, the divergence simply can't be hidden.
Point by point
$BTC is motionless, $ETH has backed off a bit first, money is clearly holding onto the strong ones. $QQQ looks solid, but when it rallies fast, you have to be cautious; $IBIT honestly follows the spot, no tricks. As long as $DXY holds its ground, risk assets have to shrink back. $GLD is still inching up slowly, safe-haven funds haven't fully withdrawn.
Don't chase; wait for who breaks first—that moment will be the signal. Stay tuned.

Oil prices plummeted 7% in a single day, so why won't crypto even rise to $100? 🛢️
The market is playing a game: whoever falters first sets the direction for today. Funds in $GLD are already slipping away, $IBIT is even weaker than the spot market, institutions verbally call for risk appetite, but their actions honestly don’t follow.
Looking at the numbers
$BTC 62,727 -0.40% $ETH 1,844 -0.42%
$QQQ +0.65% $SPY +0.72% $IBIT -2.89%
$DXY -0.02% $GLD -1.49%
Talking about the situation, whenever there’s a breeze near Hormuz, crude oil slaps inflation expectations, US Treasury yields hold firm, and Fed expectations continue to suppress valuations. Don’t be fooled by $DXY’s tiny 0.02% drop; even a slight uptick can lock down the fragile breathing room of risk assets, which have no chance to lie flat.
Calling out one by one. $BTC and $ETH are both weak, but $ETH can’t even see $BTC’s taillights; funds cling stubbornly, the altcoin season is still far off. $QQQ’s rise looks festive, but $IBIT’s -2.89% is a direct slap in the face; ETFs are hesitant, indicating spot buying hasn’t firmed up at all. $DXY’s brief relief allows $QQQ to barely lift its head; this correlation remains intact. $GLD drops 1.49%, risk-off sentiment is retreating, but the money coming out isn’t rushing into Bitcoin either; the atmosphere remains cautious.
Don’t rush to heavily bet on direction; whoever shows weakness first sets the tone. Let’s see who can’t hold their breath first.

Foreign investors are flooding back into the South Korean stock market:
On Friday, investors outside South Korea purchased $5.4 billion worth of South Korean stocks, setting a record for the largest single-day purchase.
At the same time, domestic retail investors sold a record $5.5 billion in stocks, marking their third consecutive day of selling.
This marks a sharp reversal, as foreign investors had sold $110 billion worth of South Korean stocks before trading on Friday in 2026.
During the same period, domestic retail investors bought $67 billion in stocks, with $57 billion of that occurring just in May and June.
Additionally, deposits used by South Korean retail brokerage firms for stock purchases fell by $23 billion from the June peak, down to about $74 billion.
Foreign capital appears to be flowing back into South Korea.
